Cookies Policy
The short version: this site does not set marketing cookies.
I run this site without tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics that store anything on your device. The analytics I do use (Plausible) is cookieless by design.
What’s actually set
| Cookie | Purpose | Lifespan | When set |
|---|---|---|---|
| wordpress_logged_in_* | Session for the admin user (Kyle) when logged in | Session / 14 days | Only when an admin logs in |
| wp-settings-* | Personalises the admin dashboard | 1 year | Only when an admin logs in |
| cookie_notice_accepted | Remembers if you dismissed the cookie banner | 1 year | If you click “OK” on the banner |
If you are not logged in to the WordPress admin (i.e. you are just visiting), the only cookie that may be set is the cookie-notice acknowledgement above, and only if you tap the banner.
What I do not use
- Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, or any Google tracking pixel
- Facebook Pixel, Meta Pixel, or any social-network ad pixel
- Hotjar, Microsoft Clarity, FullStory, or any session-replay tool
- Third-party advertising networks of any kind
Analytics
I use Plausible Analytics to count page views and understand which pages are popular. Plausible does not use cookies, does not collect personal data, does not fingerprint visitors, and is hosted in the EU. There is nothing to opt out of because there is nothing being stored on your device or sent to a third party that could identify you.
How to clear cookies
If you want to clear the admin cookies or the banner acknowledgement, you can do so in your browser’s privacy settings (look for “cookies” or “site data” and search for “abcwebsites.dreamhosters.com”).
